Apply To Be A Girls In Research Mentor
For Research Scholar, we are currently accepting mentors who are terminal degree candidates or holders in their respective fields. All of our Research Scholar mentors must have studied or are currently studying at a top 10 global university in the US or UK.
For App-Builder, all of our App-Builder mentors must have accomplished technical backgrounds and be able to demostrate relevant experience. The majority of our mentors have studied or are currently studying at a top 10 global university in the UK or the US.
Our compensation is competitive for all of our mentors for Research Scholar and App-Builder. However, we do have many mentors who also volunteer to mentor our scholarship students, the same application process for both is below.
Mentor Application and Onboarding Process
1Mentor Application
Submit your application online!
2Conditional Mentor Acceptance
If accepted as our mentor, you will receive a conditional offer, which means that after successfully completing your training—reading our online modules, assessment quiz, and mock mentor session—you will have finished the interview and onboarding process.
3Online Module and Assessment Quiz
Learn About Girls In Research—our programs, curriculum, mentoring methodology, and culture! This includes what to expect as a mentor, a quick assessment quiz to ensure you have a solid grasp of our foundations, and instructions for your mock mentor session.
4Mock Mentor Session
For your onboarding process, you will have a 20-minute mock mentor session with a Girls In Research staff member who will act as your "mentee" for the session. Please treat this session as you would an official mentoring session and as practical mentor training.
5Onboarding Checklist
Join our online portals, complete your onboarding checklist (such as signing up to get paid), read through your mentoring guidelines, and get ready to mentor!
